Online Chemistry Tutor is now offering additional support for A Level Chemistry students. Register as one of my students and you will have access to the following services:
- A weekly one hour live group tuition session in an A Level Chemistry topic.
- Quizzes designed to reinforce understanding and develop exam technique which can be completed in your own time.
- One hour of live Q&A for any A Level Chemistry related queries each week.
- Support via email for any other Chemistry related queries that you may have.
All of this is delivered by a highly experienced A Level Teacher and Examiner with a proven track record of helping students achieve their potential in A Level Chemistry for the last twelve years.
This service is available FREE OF CHARGE until the end of 2017 and there are a limited number of places available, so don’t delay! Email me at email@example.com to request registration. Within 24 hours you will receive a username and password which can be used on this page to access the resources.
How do the live tuition sessions work?
Live sessions are delivered using an educational software package called e-lecta. When you register with me you will be sent a username and password which will give you access to the live sessions as they become available and any related quizzes. Once you have emailed me to request a registration and have received your username and password you can use these to login from this page. In the live tuition session you will be able to hear my voice and see my screen and resources. I will review the topic, explain key terms, allow you to assess your understanding using interactive questions and work through a past paper question related to the topic.
Can I communicate with you during the live sessions?
A live chat box is available to all participants. You can send messages to everyone or just to me. I will answer all questions in real time as and when they arrive. If a question would require a more detailed answer that might disrupt the flow of the delivery of the material then that question will be answered during the live Q&A following the lesson.
When do the weekly tuition and Q&A sessions take place?
The tuition session will take place every Thursday from 7pm until 8pm, immediately followed by the Q&A.
What if I can’t attend the Thursday evening tuition session?
All sessions are recorded and can be viewed by all registered students as many times as you wish.
Which topics will be covered in the live sessions?
As an experienced examiner and teacher, I have identified those topics that seem to cause the most difficulty to students and chosen those to begin with. The schedule to the end of the year is as follows:
2nd Nov: Structure and bonding
9th Nov: Shapes of molecules
16th Nov: Intermolecular forces
23rd Nov: TOF Mass spectrometry
30th Nov: The ideal gas law
7th Dec: Organic chemistry nomenclature
14th Dec: Isomerism in organic chemistry
21st Dec: Oxidation number and redox reactions
